Leah Putnam, owner of Spring Training® has been in the health and fitness industry for close to 40 years. Through her education and experience, she has a unique ability to create and adapt movement to meet the needs of each individual’s fitness goals.

Leah’s journey into the world of movement began in the 1980s, where she embarked on a path of teaching a diverse mix of fitness classes and delving into the world of personal training. Driven by her desire to aid her clients in enhancing their structural alignment and movement patterns, was the catalyst for exploring different movement systems. At the suggestion of her mother, Leah delved into the Pilates Method, a relatively movement and rehabilitation practice known mostly in the dance community at the time. She fell in love with the method immediately and became a certified Pilates Instructor in 1993 through the Pilates Institute and Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 1994.  Leah opened Spring Training in 1994 following the birth of her twin boys, a pivotal moment marking the genesis of her studio ownership journey.  Leah was certified in the Gyrotonic Expansion System® in 1996 fostering a deep appreciation for the harmonious blend of these two modalities.

Continuously expanding her expertise and seeking additional modalities to assist her clients in achieving their movement goals, Leah pursued certification in the Hendrickson Method® of Orthopedic Massage. In 2011 Leah was faced with a diagnosis of invasive breast cancer, Leah took a road less traveled. She chose to heal herself completely without the mainstream treatments of surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. It was this profound experience that led her to found Living Wholy, based on the belief in incredible wellness even in situations seemingly beyond our control.

Throughout her life, Leah has remained committed to exploring different movement systems and sharing her discoveries with others. Embracing a holistic view of health, she understands that wellness extends beyond mere physical exercise—it encompasses nourishing the body, cultivating a positive mindset, and savoring life’s simple joys. As a certified IIN Health and Wellness Coach, Leah is deeply passionate about empowering individuals to tap into their body’s innate healing abilities through informed guidance and personal determination.

When Leah is not immersed in training or preparing nourishing meals, she can be found embarking on adventures across the globe, engaging in spirited games of pickleball, conquering the slopes of mountain ranges, trekking through scenic hiking trails, enjoying leisurely boat rides, or simply unwinding with her loved ones—including her furry four legged pal, Karl. Leah’s ultimate mission is to facilitate others in achieving optimal health and vitality, enabling them to relish ease and comfort in their daily lives and activities.
